About the Role

The Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safeguarding Nurse Advisor to join our Corporate Safeguarding Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing specialist advice and support to our employees in relation to safeguarding children and adults at risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation and best practice.
  • Work in partnership with statutory and third sector organizations to communicate sensitive and complex information via multi-agency forums.
  • Monitor the quality and effectiveness of professional practice in relation to safeguarding children and adults at risk.
  • Support and empower practitioners in communicating sensitive information to families and individuals.
  • Review high concern families with health professionals through safeguarding supervision.
  • Develop and implement safeguarding training for employees, in collaboration with the Safeguarding Trainer.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic and operational policies, procedures, and protocols to support the delivery of services in respect of safeguarding children and adults at risk.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with post-registration experience.
  • Expertise in working within a multi-agency framework.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Desirable: Masters or equivalent, experience in training and development, and knowledge of partner agencies locally.
