Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Paraplanner / Trainee. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our financial planning team in the preparation of suitability reports, drafting templates, and obtaining relevant quotations from providers.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Preparation of Suitability Reports: Prepare suitability reports from approved templates, ensuring all necessary information is included and accurate.
  2. Drafting Templates: Draft templates for approval, ensuring they meet the required standards and are compliant with regulatory requirements.
  3. Obtaining Quotations: Obtain relevant quotations from providers, ensuring all necessary information is included and accurate.
  4. Processing New Business: Process new business, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and accurate.
  5. Policy Information: Obtain policy information, ensuring all necessary details are accurate and up-to-date.
  6. Treating Customers Fairly: Demonstrate principles of Treating Customers Fairly in all customer dealings, ensuring a fair and transparent service is provided.
  7. Communicating Recommendations: Communicate easily understandable recommendations to customers in all cases, and in writing, ensuring all necessary information is included and accurate.
  8. Compliance and Risk: Aware of and complying with the rules of the FCA and the set procedures of the business to achieve compliance, ensuring all necessary steps are taken to mitigate risk.
  9. Client Files: Create compliant client files, ensuring all communications are documented correctly and accurately.
  10. CPD and Training: Complete CPD activity to meet identified needs and complete training activity records accordingly, ensuring all necessary training is completed and up-to-date.
  11. Rule Breaches: Ensure any rule breaches are brought to the attention of the Senior Management, ensuring all necessary steps are taken to mitigate risk.
  12. Compliance Standards: Develop and maintain the highest possible compliance standards in all aspects of the business, ensuring all necessary steps are taken to maintain a compliant environment.

Qualifications:

  1. Full FPC or Certificate of Financial Planning: Hold a Full FPC or Certificate of Financial Planning (first paper required for Trainee status), ensuring all necessary qualifications are met.
