You will play a key role in supporting various business initiatives while ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and data protection standards.
As part of the Legal Department, which encompasses the Company Secretary and Corporate Governance functions, you will report directly to the Head of Legal. Your responsibilities will include negotiating contracts, drafting confidentiality agreements, supporting commercial projects, offering data protection counsel, and monitoring emerging legal and regulatory trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver legal, regulatory, and data protection guidance to support the launch of new projects, products, and services, including associated contracts.
- Review and negotiate agreements with vendors and third parties to safeguard the interests of the organization.
- Manage the contracts database to ensure secure storage, accessibility, and compliance with contract terms.
- Identify, assess, and implement necessary changes in legal, regulatory, and data protection frameworks.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on legal, regulatory, and data protection risks.
Qualifications:
- Qualified to practice as a Solicitor or Barrister in England and Wales.
- Experience in-house, ideally with knowledge in areas such as Financial Conduct Authority regulations, Consumer Credit Source Book, Insurance Conduct of Business, Consumer Credit Act, and Data Protection.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively, meeting business needs and deadlines.
- Strong legal and commercial acumen with the ability to foster robust relationships across the organization and with external partners.
