Operational Lead Pharmacist - Oncology

As a key member of the University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality chemotherapy services to patients. Your expertise as a registered pharmacist with significant aseptic experience will be essential in managing the SOCP service and collaborating with the operations manager to ensure compliance with national regulations and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the SOCP service, working closely with the operations manager to ensure seamless treatment preparation and delivery.
  2. Act as the accountable pharmacist for UHS and SOCP, providing guidance and support to pharmacy staff.
  3. Provide specialist advice on chemotherapy preparation to clinicians and other healthcare professionals.
  4. Contribute to the development of a new UHS Licensed offsite Aseptic service at Adanac Park.
  5. Collaborate with external companies to ensure the delivery of the best possible chemotherapy service to UHS.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a registered pharmacist with significant aseptic experience, preferably in oncology. A further qualification in clinical pharmacy or PTQA diploma is desirable, along with a willingness to learn and develop. Previous management experience in a clinical environment is essential, as is prior experience as an accountable pharmacist or equivalent.
