We are currently on the lookout for dedicated Technicians to join a reputable rail organization on a permanent basis.

Position Overview:
As a Railway Maintenance Engineer, you will be engaged in a diverse shift schedule and will receive a competitive base salary of £33,000, complemented by a 12.5% shift allowance, bringing your total earnings to approximately £37,125.

Key Responsibilities:
Your primary duties will involve the maintenance of locomotives to ensure the reliability of our fleet. You will be accountable for the high-quality and efficient execution of assigned maintenance and engineering projects within specified timelines and budgets.

Specific tasks include:

  • Performing maintenance, repairs, overhauls, modifications, and troubleshooting as required.
  • Leading the resolution of specific technical engineering challenges as directed by your supervisor, while providing support to fellow engineers.
  • Collaborating with the Business Development team to explore new business prospects and uphold customer satisfaction.
  • Preparing written reports and supplying information to your supervisor and other management as needed.

Required Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • An Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • A BTEC National Certificate / ONC in Engineering or a European equivalent.
  • A proven history of effectively working with diesel engineering technologies and related systems.
  • The ability to cultivate skills and expertise in oneself and others to achieve satisfactory standards and deliver results within agreed timelines.
  • A commitment to high-quality standards to enhance and maintain operational excellence.
  • A calm and non-confrontational approach when dealing with conflict situations, demonstrating a cooperative working style to meet established standards and timelines.
  • A logical, analytical mindset for problem-solving and fault diagnosis.
