Job Summary

The Stroke charity is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Associate Director to lead the delivery of high-quality support to stroke survivors and carers. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for championing improvements to NHS stroke services, engaging with the wider stroke community, and influencing local stroke policy and practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of staff and volunteers to deliver commissioned and non-commissioned support to stroke survivors and carers.
  • Champion improvements to NHS stroke services, building effective relationships with key stakeholders and influencing local stroke policy and practice.
  • Engage with the wider stroke community to put stroke on the map and ensure stroke survivors have the support they need, with a focus on addressing health inequalities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality and accessibility of stroke support services.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director of Locality Impact to achieve the charity's goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Senior-level experience influencing local or national policy change, ideally in health and social care.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and delivering high-quality results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work flexibly and travel extensively across a large geographical locality.
