Position Overview

This role presents a remarkable opportunity to contribute to Barts Health NHS Trust, recognized as a leading institution in cardiac care. Our facility is the largest cardiothoracic center in the UK, integrating a comprehensive range of specialized cardiac services.
Equipped with cutting-edge resources, our center features 72 critical care beds, 10 operating theatres, and numerous catheter labs, establishing itself as one of Europe's most significant Cardiothoracic Centers.
Key Responsibilities
The position of Senior Clinical Fellow in Critical Care Medicine is available for a duration of one year, with the possibility of extension based on mutual agreement. Candidates must possess financial sponsorship to cover their remuneration and training expenses and should have attained at least an intermediate level in Intensive Care Medicine.
This fellowship is designed to cultivate expertise in advanced cardiothoracic critical care medicine, ultimately enhancing patient outcomes.
Fellows will gain substantial clinical exposure, develop leadership capabilities, and enhance their educational skills. They will encounter a variety of cardiovascular conditions prevalent in our center.
Participation in the educational curriculum is encouraged, including attendance at weekly core knowledge sessions and review meetings in radiology and echocardiography.
Moreover, fellows are motivated to engage in relevant national conferences and may pursue audit and research projects in critical care.

Qualifications and Skills
Essential Criteria:
- Full GMC Registration
- FRCA/MRCEM/MRCP/FRCS or equivalent qualifications
- Completion of at least ST4 in Intensive Care Medicine or equivalent
- Proof of financial sponsorship
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in cardiothoracic critical care
- APLS/EPLS certifications
- FICE/FUSIC qualifications
- ALS or equivalent training
- ATLS or equivalent training
