Job Title: Assistant General Manager

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Assistant General Manager to join our team at Life Leisure. As a key member of our management team, you will play a vital role in leading and overseeing the operations of our leisure centres, ensuring that we deliver exceptional customer service and achieve our business objectives.

About the Role:
  • Support the General Manager in leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the leisure centre
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer service and satisfaction
  • Manage and motivate a team of staff to achieve high levels of performance and productivity
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and policies
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform business decisions
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Management:
    • Contribute to the satisfactory completion of Life Leisure's KPIs
    • Respond to customer complaints in accordance with our complaints procedure
    • Attend weekly management meetings to discuss updates and contribute to business decisions
  • Facility Management:
    • Ensure the building is Health & Safety compliant at all times
    • Monitor and maintain high levels of customer service
    • Regularly check cleaning schedules to ensure all duties are undertaken
    • Undertake regular 'Duty Management' shifts to stay up-to-date with systems and procedures
  • Security & Maintenance of Building/Equipment:
    • Assist the General Manager in overseeing equipment maintenance and repairs
    • Liaise with Duty Managers to ensure the internal and external fabric of the centre is safe and in presentable condition
  • Management of Pool & Plant:
    • Assist the General Manager in ensuring team members with responsibility for customer safety are aware of HSG179
    • Be aware of all regulations regarding bather loads, law, and recommendations for swimming pool usage and management
    • Ensure relevant teams receive necessary training and qualifications
  • People Management:
    • Inspire and motivate teams to deliver exceptional customer service
    • Carry out regular 1-2-1s and reviews with Duty Managers
    • Assist the General Manager in maintaining accurate employee records
  • Commercial:
    • Assist the General Manager in ensuring no irregularities arise within the centres
    • Achieve monthly membership sales and retention targets
    • Produce sales leads and promote membership
