Facilities Maintenance Specialist

Main Responsibilities


Conduct scheduled weekly and monthly maintenance activities as outlined (including waste management, flushing of infrequently used outlets, and monitoring water temperature).
Respond promptly to urgent repair requests.
Perform minor repairs and modifications to building structures.
Carry out painting and decorating tasks.
Execute basic plumbing and carpentry work.
Occasionally assist with general office cleaning and janitorial tasks as needed.
Support external landscaping and cleaning efforts as required.
Handle ad hoc porterage duties (such as furniture management and relocations).
Manage stock levels effectively.
Maintain cleanliness in facilities plant rooms and workshops.

Key Attributes

Physically capable with good manual dexterity.
Proficient in manual handling techniques.
Comfortable working at elevated heights.
Able to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Ensure accurate documentation of all assigned tasks.
Adhere strictly to Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
Complete necessary documentation, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements, while complying with all relevant permits.
Demonstrate flexibility in working hours to cover for absences due to holidays or sickness.

Assist all trades within the team and, through appropriate training, be able to undertake tasks beyond core competencies.

Customer Service Excellence
Deliver outstanding service to building occupants, keeping them informed about the progress of work orders in a timely manner.
Proactively inspect facilities, reporting any maintenance or health and safety concerns to the helpdesk and relevant management.Desired Qualifications

Experience in building maintenance, handyman services, and janitorial work.
Ability to identify and select appropriate materials and tools for various tasks.
Strong understanding of health and safety protocols within a building context.
Exhibit a proactive attitude towards maintenance and facility management.
Confident, motivated, and proactive in approach.
Commitment to completing tasks correctly and efficiently within set timeframes.
Willingness to pursue further training opportunities.
Capability to provide a detailed schedule for additional or remedial works as identified.
Ability to draft and adhere to risk and method statements as required daily.

Ensure excellent customer service to building occupants, maintaining timely communication regarding work order progress.

Compliance Knowledge
Possess a solid understanding of building statutory compliance requirements.
Hold a valid UK driver's license.

39-hour work week, Monday to Thursday from 8 AM to 5 PM, and Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM.

Salary: £28,799.18
