We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for identifying, diagnosing, and rectifying faults in mechanical services, plant, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs of mechanical services, plant, and equipment, including steam raising plant, air conditioning/ventilation systems, and heating systems.
- Perform complex maintenance tasks, including fabrication, assembly, and installation of new work associated with mechanical services.
- Assist team members with tasks that require other skills and provide day-to-day supervision of Maintenance Assistants.
- Liaise with clinical staff to arrange shutdowns and maintenance of equipment and plant.
- Carry out periodic checking, servicing, and testing of plant and equipment, in accordance with planned maintenance programmes and schedules.
- Ability to work at height, use access equipment, and lift and handle heavy objects.
- Knowledge of H.S.E. procedures and regulations and the Trust's Health and Safety policy, procedures, and working practices.
- Ability to familiarize, train, or instruct others as appropriate.
- Participation in on-call arrangements providing 24-hour cover to the hospital.
The post will involve working in enclosed spaces such as roof voids and service ducts, and may require working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

As a Mechanical Maintenance Specialist, you will be expected to comply with all infection prevention and control procedures and complete all relevant paperwork systems necessary in the running of the department.
