Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Maintenance and Operations Specialist to join our team at 1st Choice Rec. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving infrastructure and equipment onsite to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Maintain all plant and service equipment in line with maintenance schedules, and assist with repairs to sustain site services and maintain production.
  • Infrastructure Development: Implement plant modifications to accommodate changes in processing procedures, and undertake capital work to provide increased capacity, production of new products, and meet environmental requirements.
  • Electrical and Mechanical Support: Operate and maintain the onsite water plant, perform electrical/mechanical breakdowns, new installations, and provide mechanical support.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Carry out preventative maintenance and manage scheduling, adhering to safe systems of working and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum BTEC Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial environment, with strong electrical and mechanical engineering skills and a solid understanding of facilities equipment.
  • Skills: Experience in diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults, designing electrical layouts, and inspecting electrical systems, transformers, and circuit breakers; experience in the operation of de-ionized water plants; good time management and organisational skills, capable of managing work with minimal supervision; strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills; detail-oriented and able to perform well under pressure.
Communication Skills
  • Oral Communication: Effective communicator, able to liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, engineers, and colleagues.
  • Written Communication: Ability to document processes/procedures to ensure information is retained and shared effectively.
