Barnardo's is currently in search of a part-time office administrator (approximately 14.5 hours per week) to support our initiatives in the Swindon and Wiltshire area. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the efficient functioning of our various programs aimed at assisting children, young people, and families. Your administrative expertise will be essential in facilitating the delivery of our crucial services.

As the largest and most recognized children's charity in the UK, Barnardo's is dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and young people nationwide. Our services encompass trauma recovery, youth engagement, and mental health assistance, all designed to help children become safer, happier, healthier, and more hopeful.

Current Local Services Include:

  • Swindon And Wiltshire Phoenix Project – Focused on trauma recovery.
  • Wiltshire Short Breaks – Offering groups and activities for children with disabilities.
  • Swindon and Wiltshire Link Worker services – In collaboration with a local health foundation.
  • Youth Workers in A&E.

The successful applicant will be assigned specific services as their primary focus, with opportunities to assist other programs as needed.

This position will primarily be home-based, with regular opportunities to engage with the team at our main office.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in an administrative or office support capacity, ideally within the charity or social care sector.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities, with a talent for managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with a professional telephone demeanor.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software.
  • A proactive mindset and a positive attitude, aligned with the values and mission of Barnardo's.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Awareness of safeguarding principles and a commitment to promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Familiarity with local community services and resources would be beneficial.
