The Online Safety Act empowers Ofcom to safeguard citizens from online threats, marking a pivotal moment in our mission to enhance online safety. Joining Ofcom now means becoming part of a transformative initiative aimed at creating a safer online environment for all.
This position is situated within the Supervision team of the Online Safety Group.
Role Overview
The selected candidate will spearhead the creation of the online safety funding statement, a vital component in ensuring the sustainability of our regulatory framework. This role requires collaboration with various departments, including policy, finance, economics, and legal teams, to develop comprehensive policy proposals. Engagement with the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) will also be essential, as we share responsibilities in implementing the online safety fees regime.
This opportunity is available as a fixed-term contract, concluding upon the completion of our policy proposals.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be instrumental in finalizing our Fees Statement, which outlines our operational decisions regarding the Online Safety funding regime. Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the daily management and progress of the Fees Statement workstream, collaborating closely with the Project Manager and Principal.
- Contributing to policy development to support the delivery of proposals and effectively communicating policy positions to internal governance bodies.
- Ensuring adherence to project milestones and proactively addressing feedback and inquiries.
- Maintaining high standards in the drafting of regulatory documents, ensuring clarity and rationale in line with our analytical framework.
