Position Overview
As a key member of our team, you will:
- Underwrite both new and renewal Property binders, utilizing your expertise to make informed decisions while adhering to established underwriting limits as outlined in the Underwriting Authority sheet. You will collaborate with the Group Head of Delegated Property when necessary.
- Manage property binders effectively, focusing on performance metrics, EPI tracking, referrals, bordereaux management, rate fluctuations, claims analysis, and conducting regular reviews, underwriter visits, and audits, while consulting with the Group Head of Delegated Property as needed.
- Service existing binder agreements and implement modifications that align with the syndicate's underwriting philosophy.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Coverholders and Brokers to enhance current trading partnerships and secure new business opportunities that align with our Underwriting business strategy.
- Evaluate rate structures, underwriting guidelines, policy language, and supporting documentation, applying your judgment to ensure they are suitable for the business portfolio.
- Prepare relevant data and reports for team meetings, internal and external discussions, and business planning as required.
Required Knowledge and Skills
We seek candidates with advanced knowledge and understanding of:
- International Commercial Property operations, including associated liabilities;
- International Homeowners and High-Value Home sectors;
- FCA / PRA and Lloyd's regulations, including conduct risk and contract certainty considerations;
- The Lloyd's insurance marketplace;
- Fundamental Underwriting Principles;
- Legal Principles relevant to the industry.
