Job Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has emerged for a permanent Culinary Specialist at Ayrshire Central Hospital.
Working Hours:
37 hours per week (5 days out of 7)
Flexibility is crucial; candidates must be available to cover shifts within the department between the hours of 0630 and 1800, including weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
The Main Kitchen at Ayrshire Central Hospital prepares and serves over 600 meals daily, including specialized therapeutic diets for patients, alongside meal services for staff and visitors. Additionally, we provide catering and hospitality for various meetings and events.
Your responsibilities will encompass the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals, including the preparation of therapeutic diets as needed. You will also be tasked with maintaining high hygiene standards and monitoring data for HACCP and Environmental Health compliance.
Qualifications and Experience:
Ideal candidates should possess experience in catering, preferably within a healthcare setting, and hold relevant qualifications such as City and Guilds 706/1 or an S/NVQ along with a Food Hygiene Certificate.
It is essential to demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a larger team. Strong communication skills are also a vital requirement.
