About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Nursing Associate to join our dynamic team in the Outpatients Department. As a Nursing Associate, you will play a vital role in providing holistic and person-centred care to patients, working closely with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals.

Main Duties

  • Undertake clinical tasks agreed within competence to the specific clinical area
  • Support individuals with all aspects of care, including daily living, providing person-centered care and promoting health and independence
  • Implement a plan of care that is in accordance with the patient's individual care needs and the predicted date of patient discharge
  • Support and maintain patient safety by undertaking clinical risk assessments and utilising the clinical incident reporting system
  • Ensure the privacy, dignity and safety of individuals is always maintained
  • Demonstrate the ability to recognise changing priorities, seeking advice and guidance from the Registered Nurse or other registered care professionals as appropriate
  • Work within the principles of informed consent and ensure valid consent is obtained prior to undertaking nursing and care procedures
  • Improve the quality of care by contributing to the continuous monitoring of people's experience of care
  • Recognise situations, behaviours or errors that could result in poor care/outcomes and report to manager/trained nurse any untoward incidents (complaints, accidents, defective equipment) and take appropriate action to ensure safety of patients, staff and relatives
  • Undertake all nursing procedures in accordance with Trust policies and ensure that these procedures and policies are understood and adhered to by all staff, within own management responsibility
