Job Title: Quality and Compliance Manager

At d r newitt recruitment, we are seeking a highly skilled Quality and Compliance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance across our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Management System (QMS) Performance: Monitor and report on the effectiveness of our QMS, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaboration with Management and Staff: Work closely with managers and staff to ensure the QMS and Food Safety Management System (FSMS) meet legal and industry standards.
  • Leadership and Training: Lead the food safety team, organize training, and manage competencies to ensure a high level of expertise within the team.
  • Auditing and Compliance: Prepare for and conduct internal audits for ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, GMP, and other relevant standards, ensuring compliance and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Supplier Management: Oversee supplier management, maintaining raw material specifications and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Customer Quality Issues: Manage customer quality issues, including complaints and corrective actions, to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Risk Management: Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for risk management and support sustainability initiatives, ensuring a proactive approach to quality and compliance.
  • Health and Safety: Work with the Health & Safety consultant on audits, risk assessments, and incident analysis, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.

Requirements:

  • Background in Quality or Compliance: A background in quality or compliance within food science or manufacturing is essential for this role.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, BRC, and Kosher standards is required, as well as experience in internal or supplier auditing, HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP.
  • Communication and IT Skills: Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential, as well as proficiency in IT and document management.
  • Education: A degree in Food Science or a related field, as well as Level 3 in HACCP, Food Safety & Hygiene, is required.
