About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Director to join our team at Buckinghamshire Council. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in the strategic management of the school budget, working closely with the headteacher, school governors, and the local authority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage the school's budget to ensure effective financial planning and decision-making.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and laws.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to school leaders and governors to ensure informed decision-making.
  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including the Single Central Record.
  • Liaise with contractors and external agencies to ensure effective financial management.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to school governors and other stakeholders.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Financial Director who is able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with school leaders, governors, and other stakeholders.

  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and laws.
