About the Role

Zachary Daniels Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading retail company to find a highly skilled Senior Financial Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant to take on a senior position within the business and lead a medium-sized team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading a medium-sized team of finance professionals
  • Full ownership of cash position, including reporting to the Finance Director and senior management
  • Month and year-end ownership, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Production of monthly management accounts, including detailed commentary and analysis
  • Assisting with the overall running of the finance department, including budgeting and forecasting
  • Working closely with third-party partners and managing the company's pension plan
  • Bank reconciliation for UK and foreign currency accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Set up and process of electronic transfers, ensuring efficient and secure payment processing
  • Production of pre-payments and accruals, ensuring accurate financial reporting
  • Stakeholder management with different functions, including sales team members and external partners
  • Liaising with and taking ownership of the audit relationship, ensuring a smooth and compliant process
  • Accounts reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Continuous improvement of systems, processes, and procedures, identifying opportunities for growth and efficiency
  • Fixed asset register, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records

Person Profile

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW, or equivalent) with a strong track record of success
  • Ambitious and career-driven individual with a passion for finance and leadership
  • High personal integrity, motivation, and pride in personal performance
  • Excellent personal presentation, communication, and character
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and external partners
  • First-class reporting ability, including good knowledge of financial systems and software

Package

A competitive salary of £50,000 - £60,000, plus an excellent bonus, pension, career development opportunities, and a range of benefits
