Diabetes Specialist Midwife

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diabetes Specialist Midwife to join our team at the NHS. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert care to women with diabetes during pregnancy, as well as leading and coordinating the delivery of high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert care to women with diabetes during pregnancy, including antenatal and postnatal care.
- Lead and coordinate the delivery of high-quality services for women with diabetes, including outpatient clinics and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the management of diabetes in pregnancy, in line with national guidelines and best practice.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care for women with diabetes, including obstetricians, pediatricians, and other specialists.
- Conduct audits and quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standards of care for women with diabetes.
- Provide education and training to midwives and other healthcare professionals on the management of diabetes in pregnancy.
- Act as a point of contact for women with diabetes, providing support and guidance throughout their pregnancy journey.
- Registered Midwife with a degree in higher education or equivalent.
- Experience working as a midwife in a community or outpatient setting, with a focus on diabetes care.
- Strong knowledge of diabetes management and its impact on pregnancy, birth, and future health.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with women, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with a focus on delivering high-quality services.
