Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at Freemantles School. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the education provision for autistic children and young people or children with complex social communication needs aged 4 to 19 years.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work alongside the Teacher, Lead Assistant, and other Classroom Assistants as a member of the class team to deliver an appropriate curriculum within a secure, stimulating, and nurturing environment.
  • Provide classroom support to children, supporting all elements of learning, emotional wellbeing, communication, behavior, and personal care.
  • Assist with the planning and preparation of lessons, including setting up equipment and materials.
  • Support the Teacher in implementing individualized education plans and behavior management strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment.

Requirements:
  • GCSE level qualifications or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children or young people with complex needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and support the Teacher and other Classroom Assistants.
