SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at a small, dedicated primary and secondary school specialising in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualised support to students with SEMH needs, fostering positive relationships and trust.
- Assist in the implementation of personalised education plans (PEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Support students during lessons, helping them engage with the curriculum and manage their emotions.
- Encourage positive behaviour and social interactions, helping students develop essential life skills.
- Collaborate with teachers and external professionals to monitor progress and adapt strategies as needed.
- Participate in training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEMH.
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special needs are desirable but not essential.
- Experience working with children and young people with SEMH or related challenges is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students.
- Empathy, patience, and a commitment to supporting the emotional well-being of all students.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to the needs of the classroom.
