Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: Gateshead, Tyne and Wear

Salary: £75 to £100 per day

Contract Type: Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education is seeking skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) to support client schools in the Gateshead area. In this role, you will play a vital part in fostering the academic and personal growth of secondary students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist classroom teachers in delivering lessons and maintaining a conducive learning environment.
  • Implement the school's behaviour management strategies to create a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all students.
  • Support subject teachers in managing student behaviour effectively.
  • Engage in school events, activities, and extracurricular initiatives.
  • Provide targeted support to students in small groups or individually, ensuring comprehension and task completion.
  • Track and document student progress, communicating any concerns to appropriate staff members.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development and evaluation of student support strategies.

Qualifications:

  • A recent graduate with a degree in Education, Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for working with children and a dedication to their educational advancement.
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a constructive outlook.
  • Prior experience as an HLTA or in a comparable position is advantageous.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
