Teaching Assistant with BSL Expertise

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Prospero Teaching. This role requires a strong background in British Sign Language (BSL) and the ability to communicate effectively with young people who are Deaf or Hearing Impaired.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum Level 2 qualification in BSL and be confident in working with individuals who require communication support. As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide support to educators and work on a 1:1 or small group basis with students who require BSL communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting students with complex communication needs
- Assisting educators with lesson planning and delivery
- Building positive relationships with students, educators, and school staff
- Supervising students as needed
- Collaborating with the education team to develop and implement effective communication strategies
Requirements:
- Minimum Level 2 qualification in BSL
- Full, clean driving license
- Ability to work full-time across the academic year
- Enhanced, children's DBS on the update service
- References covering the last two years of employment
