About the Role

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Business Support Officer to join our Facilities team at St Cadoc's Hospital in Newport.

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the team, maintaining records and dealing with first-line enquiries. They will also work flexibly to ensure the smooth running of the Service.

Main Responsibilities

  • To ensure the designated administrative workload is carried out efficiently and effectively, prioritizing own workload and evaluating ongoing activity to ensure targets are met.
  • To work flexibly and seek advice when necessary, but be responsible for managing their own area of work.
  • To raise issues outside of designated control to Line Manager or relevant Senior Manager.
  • To arrange meetings, prepare papers, and produce correspondence as required.

Requirements

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including English Language
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems, acquired through experience and training to Vocational Level 3 or equivalent
  • Good general education
  • Advanced keyboard skills, including Microsoft Office

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Knowledge of relevant organizational policies
  • RSA 3 or equivalent typing skill
  • ECDL core modules or equivalent, or willingness to work towards
  • Previous NHS experience

Aptitude and Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills, with highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to plan and prioritize workload effectively
