Clinical Service Manager Quality and Governance

This is a senior leadership role within the Talking Therapies service, responsible for ensuring the highest possible standards of quality and governance across the service. The successful candidate will provide a qualified specialist assessment and therapy service to adults as part of the Berkshire IAPT Talking Therapies Service, working collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, clinicians, and other practitioners to achieve person-centred care.
The role involves leading, developing, monitoring, and evaluating new or existing areas of service delivery, care, and treatment, as well as implementing various interventions. The successful candidate will also take a senior lead role, providing line management, clinical supervision, project management, and pathway leadership as appropriate.
This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of the clinical governance agenda, as well as the ability to manage a team and set and maintain standards of performance and conduct. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an interest in working with adults with common mental health needs and long-term conditions, and will be able to sustain intense levels of concentration responding and participating as required.
Main Responsibilities- To take a senior lead role and provide line management, project management, and pathway leadership as appropriate.
- To ensure the timely investigation of complaints in accordance with the Trust-wide policy for complaints and compliments, taking follow-up action where required.
- To be responsible for reporting and investigating Serious Untoward Incidents as indicated in the Trust Incident reporting policy, taking remedial action as appropriate and ensuring that learning is disseminated across the IAPT service.
- Lead, develop, monitor, and evaluate new or existing areas of service delivery, care, and treatment, and to be involved in the implementation of various interventions.
The successful candidate will have:
- Doctoral level training in clinical psychology, counselling, or health psychology, or a qualification in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to postgraduate diploma level, and a professional qualification in health or social care, such as an RMN or Social Worker, and British Association of Behavioural Cognitive Psychotherapy accreditation.
- Experience of working within the NHS.
- A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience as a team lead/manager.
- Experience of providing clinical supervision to psychological therapists.
- A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience of specialist therapy assessment and treatment of clients in Adult Mental Health.
