About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Operations Specialist to join our team at UBDS Group. As a key member of our Infrastructure and Security operations centre, you will play a critical role in monitoring and responding to security incidents, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of our clients' data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Incident Response: Analyze and investigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents, executing incident response processes to contain and respond to Security Incidents.
  • SIEM Management: Monitor alerts and events to identify potential threats, intrusions, compromises, and vulnerabilities using tools such as Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
  • Threat Intelligence: Conduct deep packet inspection and analyze events, including phishing and malware, to fine-tune alerts and events and maintain a high true positive alert rate.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance to SLA, process adherence, and process improvement within the SoC, providing guidance and assistance to other analysts as they investigate incidents and create/tune rules.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Continually review all SIEM detection content to ensure they are implemented in the most appropriate manner and fit for purpose in line with agreed quality SLAs, KPIs, and industry best practice.
About You
  • Experience: Exposure and hands-on experience with SIEM and Threat & Vulnerability technologies, ideally Microsoft Sentinel & Defender for Cloud.
  • Security Knowledge: Knowledge of Security including types and methods of cyber-attack and underlying network protocols.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Strong documenting and reporting skills.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management.
  • Communication: Ability to work closely with Cyber Security, operational teams, and multiple customers across different sectors.
  • Certifications: Willingness to obtain UK SC clearance.
