About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payments Strategy Manager to join our Financial Services team at N Brown. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our payments strategy, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving business growth through innovative payment solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive payments strategy that aligns with business objectives
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including PSD2, PCI, and scheme rules
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and drive commercial payments initiatives
  • Manage relationships with payments service providers to ensure optimal service and pricing
  • Lead the monthly payments forum to provide updates on performance, risks, and initiatives
  • Work with Information Security teams to ensure PCI compliance
  • Ensure payments or refunds can be properly reconciled with Finance
  • Minimize customer friction during SCA while retaining protections against financial crime
  • Maintain payment dispute and complaint processes
  • Ensure the payments service operates reliably, resolving any issues quickly and analyzing causes to minimize repeat risks
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a senior analyst or manager working with payments processing in an ecommerce environment
  • Understanding of technical steps involved in processing payments from cards, mobile wallets, BACS, Direct Debits, and Faster Payments
  • Good understanding of payments regulation, including PSD2, PCI, and scheme rules
  • Commercially minded with good industry knowledge of best practice to recognize opportunities to increase payments efficiency
  • Confident to work with external providers as the business owner of payment solutions
  • Highly analytical with a demonstrated ability to solve problems through logical thinking
  • Excellent presentation skills using Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent organizational skills to prioritize and deliver required output from yourself and your direct report accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Ability to collaborate effectively by building good business relationships with peers across the business
  • Confidence in owning your area of expertise and justifying and backing up an approach to others
  • Knowledge of direct debit processes
Desirable
  • Previous experience working in Financial Services
  • Managed or coached more junior analysts
  • Comfortable extracting and analyzing large datasets
  • Experience or industry knowledge of open banking payment initiation
