Job Summary: We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Highway Maintenance Supervisor to join our Transportation team at Kier Group. As a key member of our Reactive Works team, you will be responsible for overseeing the timely development and delivery of reactive maintenance, emergency response, and adverse weather services for Kier.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Reactive Works Manager in programming, managing, and delivering routine and severe weather services, ensuring compliance with program and maintenance requirement plans.
  • Supervise daily allocation and management of works and resources, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to health and safety protocols.
  • Actively promote health and safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with general health and safety responsibilities.
  • Liaise with clients, members of the public, and other key stakeholders, including emergency services, to ensure effective communication and resolution of issues.
  • Implement and maintain the Somerset IMS, ensuring teams follow established processes and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working within the highways industry, including knowledge of network operations and scheme delivery.
  • Hold an SSSTS or higher and possess a full driving license.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
