Role Overview

This position involves a diverse range of responsibilities centered around the sale of both new and pre-owned agricultural machinery. Each day presents unique challenges and opportunities. Establishing and nurturing strong customer relationships within your designated area is crucial for success, as is attracting new clientele to our dealership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the dealership's representative in selling machinery within a specified sales territory.
  • Implement all sales process steps to achieve exceptional sales results, utilizing the sales tools provided by John Deere.
  • Stay informed about product features and benefits of all equipment and services offered by the dealership, participating in relevant training sessions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financing options to assist customers in purchasing new and used machinery.
  • Monitor competitor activities and product offerings, providing feedback to sales management.
  • Conduct field demonstrations of new equipment.
  • Oversee the delivery of goods and follow up with customers, fostering strong and loyal relationships.
  • Keep track of trends in customer business activities and communicate insights to management promptly.
  • Collaborate with Sales Specialists as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in equipment sales.
  • Strong understanding of agricultural and turf equipment along with farming practices.
  • Proficient in standard computer applications, internet functions, and sales tools.
  • Familiarity with John Deere and competing products.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports effectively.
  • Exceptional customer relationship management skills.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as necessary.
  • Demonstrates integrity and a positive attitude.
