Job Summary

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Respiratory Medicine team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert care to patients with asthma and COPD, as well as developing and implementing care pathways to improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert care to patients with asthma and COPD, including assessment, diagnosis, and management.
  • Develop and implement care pathways to improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Conduct research and audit to improve patient care and outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver education and training to healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse Part 1, 2 or relevant section of the register.
  • Post-registration experience in respiratory medicine.
  • Good knowledge of guidelines in relation to asthma and COPD.
  • Knowledge and experience in delivering non-invasive ventilation.
  • Competent in taking arterial and capillary blood gases.
  • Able to perform skin prick allergy testing for airborne allergies.
  • Able to do FeNo testing.
  • Able to undertake oxygen assessments for long-term oxygen therapy and ambulatory oxygen.
Desirable Criteria
  • Relevant post-registration programme.
  • Teaching/Assessment programme.
  • Leadership development programme.
  • Management development programme.
  • Completed/completing Masters Degree or modules at MSc level.
