About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at a small private SEND school in Oldham. The school caters for young people aged 11-18 who struggle within mainstream settings and have an EHCP for Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs (SEMH).

The successful candidate will provide support on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, assisting students with literacy, numeracy, and general subject knowledge. They will also support individuals with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties, as well as those with mental health needs and anxiety.

About the School

The school provides long-term placements for pupils who are disengaged from education, have been permanently excluded or are at risk of exclusion. Many students who attend are Looked After Children in the care system.

The school has high expectations for all pupils, including students in the sixth form. Skilled staff ensure that pupils receive support to regulate their feelings when needed.

To be considered for this Behaviour Support Assistant position, you will need to have a minimum of six weeks' experience of working with children in the last three years, supported by references. You will also need to have the legal right to work full-time in the UK.
