Job Title: Apprentice Retail Store Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Apprentice Retail Store Manager to join our team at Zara Kids in Aberdeen. As a key member of our store management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:Store Operations:
  • Manage store KPIs, ensuring targets are exceeded and maintaining high standards of store appearance and cleanliness.
  • Support the General Manager with store maintenance and electronic device management.
  • Oversee the cleaning standards and ensure compliance with company guidelines.
  • Monitor uniforms and stationery allocation, and manage store costs within approved budgets.
  • Ensure timely and effective replenishment, and maintain an organized stockroom.
  • Monitor and set corrective actions for procedures, including Security, Shrinkage, Cash desk management, Administration, and Health and Safety.
  • Drive marketing initiatives and department sales performance based on commercial reports and product knowledge.
  • Manage department budgets and design effective rotas to ensure correct coverage.
  • Conduct competitor research and provide relevant feedback.
  • Ensure department merchandising aligns with company standards and commercial guidelines.
HR Processes:
  • Monitor sales productivity and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Responsible for payroll processes and compliance with deadlines.
  • Ensure all ER processes are followed according to company policy.
  • React to recruitment needs and ensure a fair selection process.
  • Understand and reinforce company return policy.
  • Maintain clear communication with Head Office and management.
  • Promote HR Policies and Procedures and Code of Conduct in the store.
Training and Development:
  • Identify team members with development potential and build a succession plan.
  • Develop the team through performance reviews and personal development plans.
  • Ensure inductions and training are carried out for new starters and current employees.
  • Deliver constructive feedback to support employee development.
  • Receive feedback positively for personal development.
Customer Service:
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction in the store.
  • Motivate the team to offer a positive customer experience.
  • Support customer service with product knowledge and awareness.
  • Effectively resolve customer queries and manage conflicts.
Health and Safety:
  • Maintain good housekeeping throughout all areas in the store.
  • Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy.
  • Act as an ambassador for the company's sustainability project.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of the Company, brand, and store.
  • Experience in managing a similar retail operation in a fast-paced environment.
  • Market, commercial, and competitor awareness.
  • Team management experience maximizing profitability and driving sales.
  • Basic knowledge of UK Employment Law.
