Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated SEN Tutors to provide personalized educational support to students with complex special educational needs.

The role involves delivering tailored 1:1 tuition in core subjects such as Maths and English to students who require alternative educational pathways. Tutors will conduct initial assessments to gauge each student's capabilities and develop customized lesson plans that cater to their unique learning requirements.

Sessions will be conducted in a comfortable environment, such as the student's home or a community space, on a flexible part-time basis, allowing for up to 25 hours of engagement per week.

As an SEN Tutor, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and executing lessons that effectively address educational gaps and enhance student performance. Ideal candidates may come from a teaching background or possess substantial experience in therapeutic educational roles, demonstrating a commitment to supporting children's diverse needs.

Position Overview:

  • Location: Various locations
  • Role: SEN Tutor (Specialist in Secondary Education)
  • Hours: Up to 30 hours weekly
  • Contract Type: Temporary/Part-time
  • Compensation: Starting at £27 per hour

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching credentials preferred
  • Proven experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Experience in UK classroom settings and delivering customized lesson plans
  • Creative, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching
  • Experience managing challenging behaviors and engaging disengaged learners

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to apply for a new one
  • Two professional references related to child education
