About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Rural Livelihoods Advisor. As a key member of our delivery team, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and monitoring collaborative initiatives to address complex environmental and social issues in agricultural and forest commodity production landscapes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical advice on livelihoods and human rights as a strategic lead and/or technical expert within projects
  • Develop and implement effective approaches to baseline data gathering, risk assessment, and monitoring of multi-stakeholder landscape-level projects
  • Facilitate processes within company-collaboration platforms and multi-stakeholder initiatives on technical topics
  • Stay up-to-date with current and evolving best practices in human rights and sustainable livelihoods, and share knowledge with colleagues
  • Manage project implementation and delivery, including day-to-day management and coordination
  • Support and deliver training and capacity building for internal and external stakeholders
  • Represent Proforest in relevant international meetings and forums
Requirements
  • Professional in-country experience in rural regions relevant to agricultural and forest commodity production
  • Experience working with key actors, including farmers, smallholders, workers, labour unions, community associations, and local community leaders
  • Experience with monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) techniques
  • Knowledge of relevant tools and approaches for improving rural livelihoods, including living income and living wages benchmarks
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to write concisely and design simple visuals to communicate concepts and approaches
