Rural Surveyor

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious newly qualified surveyor to join our rural division in Oxford. Our dedicated team of rural surveyors provides expert advice to landowners and farmers on unlocking the value of their assets, diversification, change of land use, estate management, leveraging Natural Capital and bio-diversity opportunities, rural planning, and valuing rural assets across the UK.
This is a varied and interesting role requiring project and business management skills with hands-on delivery to provide management and consultancy services including valuation advice to clients, other professional advisors, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage multiple projects and deal with a variety of work, with a can-do attitude and a desire to grow in their career.

Main duties:
- Day-to-day professional advice to a mixed portfolio of management and consultancy clients.
- Supporting Partners deliver valuations of high-value farms, estates, country houses, and portfolios of properties throughout England.
- Being responsible and a first point of contact for a number of existing clients, managing those clients to service existing and future professional needs, consistently providing sound and reasoned advice.
- In addition to delivering valuations, the portfolio of work will include the management of rural estates and property portfolios, providing strategic advice to farm and estate clients, drafting agreements, doing deals, and generally dealing with a wide range of jobs centered around providing property advice to our clients.
- Working with the Partners to expand the team by identifying and developing viable fee-earning opportunities.
- Working closely with other specialist teams, including planning and development, valuation, energy and infrastructure, agency, and natural capital, to deliver and develop new fee opportunities from existing and new clients.
- Actively assisting in the development and implementation of efficient, 'best practice' internal systems and processes, optimizing IT and other resources.
- Implementing policy as required and ensuring legal, professional, and corporate compliance on all work carried out.
- Assisting with pitch reporting and presentations.
- There is an opportunity for the right applicant to develop specialisms in rural planning, estate management, or valuation, depending on their own skillsets and interests.

What will it take to be successful?
We are looking for a forward-thinking newly qualified surveyor with a can-do attitude, who will have the ability to manage multiple projects and deal with a variety of work. The ideal candidate will be part-way or near completion of their APC, with a desire to grow in their career, and have experience within a rural practice gained through work experience or placements. It is essential that the candidate has or is working towards gaining a full UK driving license.
