Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptionally talented Programme Director to join our team. In this role, you will provide direction and management for every phase of large-scale programmes to ensure on-schedule completion within or below budget and in accordance with contractual obligations.

The Programme Director must be capable of managing multiple projects that make up a complex programme enterprise involving a diverse supply chain. You will be required to demonstrate experience of balancing technical and managerial approaches.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Act as the Turner & Townsend representative with the client and selected subcontractors during the programme execution.
  2. Negotiate changes to the scope of work with the client and key subcontractors.
  3. Collaborate with Business Development to market and secure additional work with the client.
  4. Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the programme.
  5. Participate in regulatory conversations and in public meetings in support of clients.
  6. Oversee the establishment of the Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required.
  7. Establish the delivery requirements for all areas of the programme and monitor the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
  8. Plan, direct, supervise, and control the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned programme as required.
  9. Mobilise resources to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work.
  10. Work with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a programme.
  11. Ensure that the programme meets or exceeds goals established in the project plans.
  12. Work with the key project individual to devise and execute actions plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work.
  13. Promote technical and commercial excellence on the programme through the application of Quality Assurance processes.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly commended leader with proven ability to operate at Programme Executive Level. You should have a Bachelor's Degree in Project Management or a related technical/business field and significant competence spanning all stages of programme life-cycle.

You should have a broad general technical and business background, as well as previous project management experience on large-scale programme/project types. You should be able to manage and direct cross-functional teams with credible pan-domain and pan-discipline expertise.

Senior Accreditation of competency to a professional body, CIOB or equivalent, is also required.

Desirable Skills

We are looking for someone who can apply systems thinking to complex multi-stakeholder environments. You should have proven ability to perform in a senior management capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.

You should also be knowledgeable of current innovation and how it can be effectively utilised on programmes/projects.
