Human Appeal is a charitable organization driven by faith, dedicated to eliminating poverty through humanitarian assistance, sustainable development initiatives, and advocacy for our global beneficiaries.

As the Talent Acquisition Coordinator, the successful applicant will be essential in supporting the People and Culture Manager (UK and Regional) by overseeing the screening process for new employees and volunteers. This includes performing Thomson Reuters and media verifications, as well as gathering employment, educational, and character references. Additionally, you will assist the P+C Manager (UK) with various recruitment tasks, such as crafting Job Profiles, creating and publishing job advertisements, shortlisting applicants, and organizing interviews. Your contributions will ensure the effective management of the recruitment function within Human Appeal's HR operations, aligning with audit standards, while ensuring that candidates are thoroughly vetted to protect Human Appeal and secure the best talent efficiently and cost-effectively through a fair and unbiased process.

Key Responsibilities of the Talent Acquisition Coordinator:

- Conduct all necessary pre-employment verifications, including Thomson Reuters screening, DBS checks, media checks, and comprehensive reference checks for volunteers, UK staff, and international personnel prior to their commencement.
- Collaborate with the P+C Manager (UK) to manage the complete recruitment cycle for all UK departments, which includes drafting Job Profiles, posting job advertisements, shortlisting candidates, and coordinating interviews.

What We Seek in Our Talent Acquisition Coordinator:

  • Perform media checks for new volunteers, UK staff, and international personnel.
  • Execute Thomson Reuters screening checks for new volunteers, UK staff, and international personnel.
  • Carry out reference checks for new volunteers, UK staff, and international personnel, including employment, educational, and character references.
  • Conduct DBS checks for all applicable UK staff.
  • Assist the P+C Manager with daily transactional duties related to the recruitment process across all UK departments (Communications, Donor Care, Finance, Fundraising, Operations, People and Culture, Programmes, and Systems), which includes:
  • Drafting Job Profiles.
  • Preparing Authority Recruit Forms for necessary approvals.
  • Writing and publishing job advertisements.
  • Shortlisting candidates and developing Shortlist Criteria Spreadsheets.
  • Organizing interviews by coordinating with both candidates and interview panels to finalize suitable times and dates.
  • Administering selection tools such as Psychometric Tests and Assessment Centres.
  • Providing feedback following interviews.
  • Preparing Candidate Selection Forms for necessary approvals.
  • Maintaining all relevant recruitment and personnel records in compliance with ISO and Investors in People Audit standards.
  • Collaborating with the P+C Manager to effectively promote Human Appeal as an attractive workplace.
  • Working alongside the P+C Manager to enhance the candidate experience during the application process.
  • Partnering with the P+C Manager to gather and improve recruitment metrics, such as 'time to hire'.
