We are seeking a Senior Design Manager to become a vital part of our team at Kier Group. This role will focus on overseeing an educational initiative, ensuring that design processes are executed efficiently and effectively.

Location: To be determined

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Design Manager will play a crucial role in orchestrating and integrating the efforts of our external design partners to meet project timelines and uphold quality standards.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the design workflow during both pre-construction and construction phases as necessary.
  • Analyzing inquiry documents, specifically the Employer's Requirements.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to produce a comprehensive Contractor's Proposal document.
  • Implementing innovative and cost-efficient design solutions.
  • Ensuring design issues are addressed within strict deadlines and that designers adhere to information delivery schedules.

Candidate Profile:

This position is ideal for you if you possess:

  • Experience in delivering complex, high-value design projects from a main contractor's viewpoint.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and workload management skills.
  • A solid understanding of Building Regulations and Planning Permission processes.
  • Familiarity with DFE projects.
  • Experience with site and contract procedures is a plus.
