Job Summary
We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead our Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Department at Teignmouth Community School. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for driving forward strategic priorities, ensuring a robust curriculum and assessment framework, and inspiring excellence in teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive MFL curriculum that meets the needs of all students
- Lead and manage a team of MFL teachers, providing coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and inclusive curriculum
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them
- Contribute to the development of school policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with Trust-wide initiatives
Requirements
- Proven experience of leading a department or team in a secondary school setting
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students
- Strong subject knowledge and expertise in MFL, with a passion for teaching and learning
- Ability to analyze data and evaluate student progress, identifying areas for improvement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, students, and parents
