Band 6 - Registered Nurse, Emergency Services

An exceptional opportunity has emerged for Band 6 Registered Nurses to join our dynamic Emergency Services team.

The Emergency Services at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is a critical component of our healthcare delivery, functioning as a designated Trauma Unit within a large district general hospital. Our facility encompasses a specialized pediatric unit, a minor injuries section, major care areas, an ambulatory care unit, and dedicated resuscitation zones for both adults and children.

We are looking to recruit numerous Band 6 Registered Nurses with experience in Emergency Services, particularly those skilled in managing patients with acute and life-threatening conditions. Candidates should be adept at assessing and planning care for individuals presenting to our department.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing your designated area during each shift, providing guidance and support to junior nursing staff while receiving clinical support from a supervisory Band 7 Nurse in Charge.

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to operate independently within the established guidelines, consulting with the supervisory sister or charge nurse as necessary.

A clear vision for best practices, along with proven decision-making and organizational skills, is essential for this position.

You will receive ongoing professional development support from the Senior Nurse for Professional Development.

Our department is currently undergoing a clinical model and workforce modernization review, making this an exciting time to join our innovative team.

Proficiency in Welsh is desirable for this position; we welcome applications from both Welsh and English speakers.

  • Manchester Triage Training
  • Relevant experience in Emergency Services

  • Skills in cannulation and venepuncture
  • Experience in catheterization
