Job Title: Wheel and Brake Systems Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Wheel and Brake Systems Engineer to join our team at Apex Recruitment Services. As a key member of our Braking Systems Division, you will be responsible for supporting the development of new wheel and brake equipment, ensuring that designs meet customer, regulatory, and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Wheel and Brake Engineer in performing performance calculations and simulations to validate equipment against design requirements.
- Lead and manage small sub-projects within the larger wheel and brake (W&B) project as needed.
- Support all phases of the product development lifecycle, including requirements validation, design, manufacturing, qualification, and certification testing, as well as initial service entry.
- Coordinate with other engineering functions to ensure successful equipment development while meeting program targets for performance, costs, and schedules.
- Actively contribute to Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives within the Wheel & Brake Centre of Excellence.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong engineering background, ideally with experience of Wheel & Brake component design, and development.
- Exposure to Project Management skills including cost / schedule tracking.
Desirable Skills:
- Brake systems knowledge/experience.
- Experience or training in Continuous Improvement activities.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Ideally degree qualified in a relevant engineering field, with industry exposure/experience.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with different engineering functions and stakeholders.
- Able and willing to travel internationally, as and when required.
