Job Summary:

The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is seeking a highly skilled Team Leader to join our team. As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in delivering a world-class visitor experience across the Shakespeare Family Homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Visitor Experience Manager and Visitor Operations Manager to develop and implement strategies to enhance the visitor experience.
  • Supervise a team of staff and volunteers to ensure seamless delivery of day-to-day visitor operations.
  • Adhere to fire, security, Health & Safety, cash handling, and data protection requirements.
  • Hold keys and unlock/secure the site and grounds as required.
  • Undertake regular checks to ensure high standards are met for visitors.
  • Deliver admissions and secondary spend targets.
  • Cover the Duty Manager on duty days or at meetings.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a customer-facing operation, preferably in a busy visitor attraction or similar setting.
  • Experience of successfully supervising a team to deliver against a range of KPIs, including financial and visitor satisfaction targets.
  • Sound understanding of customer service principles.
  • Able to prioritize and make confident operational decisions under pressure.
  • Experience of cash handling, building management, and security procedures.
  • Positive and enthusiastic about working with the public.
  • Team-player, able to work alongside a range of colleagues at various locations.
  • Self-motivated, able to act on your own initiative and enable others to deliver to high standards.

Working Arrangements:

  • Work over seven days and Bank Holidays on a rota basis with colleagues.
  • Manage and attend some out-of-hours events.
