About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT professional to join our team as a 2nd Line Support Engineer. As a key member of our IT engineering support team, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our customers, working closely with the 1st Line Support team to resolve issues and queries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer requests, including escalations from the 1st Line Support team and queries to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to design solutions, planning, and managing installation projects.
  • Occasionally visit customer sites to provide technical support and resolve issues.
  • Work closely with the 1st Line Support team to ensure seamless customer service.
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge and skills to stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of technology and telecoms, including Microsoft 365 implementation and support.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows/Mac Server and Desktop Support, Group Policy, and Active Directory Administration.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure, including broadband, leased lines, LANs, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Ethernet, and Wireless routers/firewalls.
  • Experience with Hyper-V and VMWare, Veeam Backup, and remote backup and firewall procedures.
  • Good customer service experience and ability to work under pressure to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Strong attention to detail, good time management skills, and ability to multitask.
  • Proactive approach, strong organizational skills, and ability to work as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified on Prep/Cloud or equivalent.
  • Hyper V/VMWare certification.
  • CCNA or equivalent.
  • FortiGate/Cisco Firewalling or equivalent.
  • ITIL or equivalent.
