About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Director of Development to lead our University Programmes team. As a key member of our Development and Alumni Relations team, you will be responsible for driving our ambitious fundraising efforts and playing a critical role in shaping the future of philanthropy at the University of Cambridge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 40 fundraising professionals, fostering a culture of motivation, accountability, and excellence.
  • Develop and implement multi-year fundraising strategies with demanding targets, working closely with senior leaders across the University and Colleges.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director, Principal Gifts & International, to co-create and lead the fundraising programme as a whole.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for key fundraising areas, including Health Priorities, Academic Schools, Strategic Initiatives, and Culture and Collections.

Requirements
  • Proven track record in leading multifaceted fundraising teams and managing complex relationships within a large organisation.
  • Experience in developing and implementing multi-year fundraising strategies with demanding targets.
  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to collaborate with senior leaders across the University and Colleges.
