Job Title: NHS Senior Nurse

As a Senior Nurse in our Blood Collection team, you will play a vital role in leading our team in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the safe collection of blood products and delivering high standards of care to our donors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of Healthcare Assistants, Donor Care Supervisors, and Sister/Charge Nurses to deliver high-quality care to donors.
  • Take clinical accountability for ensuring the safe collection of blood products and operational responsibility for meeting regulatory and governance requirements.
  • Motivate your team to promote continuous improvement and staff development, and collaborate with stakeholders to effectively plan and resource blood collection sessions.
  • Have experience of using Microsoft Office packages and iOS to prepare documents, deliver presentations, and communicate.
  • Have experience in monitoring and evaluating standards of clinical care, and an understanding of clinical audit and research.
  • Have experience of initiating and supporting the professional development of colleagues, and working to performance objectives and organisational targets.
  • Have an awareness of patient safety initiatives and risk management.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Council registration as Registered Nurse – Adult.
  • Hold a full and valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
