The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to the South West Community Mental Health Team, ensuring that junior medical staff operate within the parameters of the New Deal and are Working Time Directive compliant.
They will also participate in service and business planning activity for the locality and, as appropriate, for the whole mental health service.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected team within the NHS, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of the mental health service.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients, including those with complex needs, and will be expected to demonstrate excellent clinical skills and a bio-psycho-social perspective.
Person Specification- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
- CCT in Psychiatry; OR Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register in psychiatry;
- Experience of the full range of clinical responsibilities expected of a consultant in General Adult psychiatry.
- Experience of working with service users who have complex needs within General Adult psychiatry.
- Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
