About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Catheterisation Nurse to join our team at the Peninsula Heart Clinic. As a key member of our cardiac catheterisation team, you will be responsible for assisting medical staff with diagnostic and interventional procedures, angiogram, PCI, pacing, and EPS. You will work in a theatre-style environment, performing both scrub and circulating duties, and will be required to wear lead PPE during procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist medical staff with diagnostic and interventional procedures, including angiogram, PCI, pacing, and EPS.
  • Perform both scrub and circulating duties in a theatre-style environment.
  • Wear lead PPE during procedures.
  • Promote and maintain a caring and highly professional standard of nursing, meeting the needs of patients pre and post cath lab procedures.
  • Act as a professional role model and teach and supervise junior staff nurses and unqualified staff.
  • Lead the unit team if required and assist with manual handling and transferring of patients.
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality in respect of all medical and nursing records and interpersonal issues with colleagues.

Requirements

  • Holds first-level registration.
  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates programmes of care.
  • Records vital signs and reports any deterioration of clinical condition to senior nurse.
  • Recognises life-threatening arrhythmias and summons help.
  • Performs and interprets ECGs.
  • Performs venepuncture and cannulation.
  • ILS trained.
  • Scrub for patients undergoing cardiac catheterisation, pacemaker implantation, and PCI.
