We are seeking an experienced Medical Content Strategist to lead our team of medical writers and editors. As a key member of our editorial team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing content strategies that meet the needs of our clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement content strategies that align with business objectives and meet the needs of our clients and stakeholders.
  • Lead a team of medical writers and editors to produce high-quality content that is medically accurate, engaging, and compliant.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business priorities and medical issues, and develop content that meets those needs.
  • Participate in client-facing meetings to discuss challenges and solutions in ongoing projects.
  • Manage your own workload and output across multiple projects, and oversee the workload of direct reports.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply that knowledge to improve content and processes.

Requirements

  • UK citizen or resident with right to work in the UK.
  • BSc or higher in biomedical science; substantial experience in the pharmaceutical or medical communications industry may be considered in place of degree.
  • Experience in medical communications, journalism, strategy, consulting, medical affairs or related work in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Line manager experience overseeing medical writers, either in-house or remotely.
  • Client-facing experience, with demonstrated ability to navigate challenging relationships.
  • Experience with grants and proposals a plus.
  • Well-developed scientific communications skills with the ability to edit and adapt content utilising a variety of styles and outputs.
  • Ability to pick up on new therapy areas quickly and to work across multiple projects.
  • Solid understanding of the drug development process and the relevant regulations that influence communicating with healthcare professionals and the public.
  • Ability to action received feedback and ensure high standards are consistently maintained through the content development process.
  • A desire to provide creative solutions to content challenges.
  • Strong project and time management skills.
  • A flexible, proactive approach with the ability to multi-task, adapt quickly to change, work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently as part of a geographically dispersed team.
