About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Operations Manager to join our team at CHEP. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for leading the maintenance of our site and ensuring that our equipment and facilities are maintained in a safe and efficient manner.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to take on a leadership role and drive business improvement through effective maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Manage maintenance issues and delegate resources to the right skills in the team or external resources as required.
    • Provide support to engineering project teams as required.
  • Maintenance Planning and Execution
    • Develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in missed maintenance activities.
    • Audit and ensure compliance of the engineering data systems.
  • Equipment Optimization and Performance
    • Optimize equipment according to standard procedure, enhancing performance and product quality, ensuring the achievement of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    • Facilities management.
  • Financial Management and Reporting
    • Develop clear accountability for maintenance material spend combined with a strategy to manage expenditure.
  • Continuous Improvement and Development
    • Undertake continuous training and development of self and team.
    • Identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation.
  • Technical Expertise and Support
    • Provide technical expertise to the team.
    • Develop, implement, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental
    • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.
    • Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements.
    • Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors.
    Requirements
    • City and Guilds, apprenticeship, HND, HNC or similar in an engineering-related discipline.
    • Completed a level 3 recognised apprenticeship programme with a mechanical and/or electrical discipline.
    • Ideally NEBOSH.
    • Electrical Duty holder certification.
    • 18th Edition / Machine Safety (PILZ).
